Permanent commission (PC) is granted through the Indian Military Academy (IMA) Dehradun and Short Service Commission (SSC) is granted through Officers Training Academy (OTA) Chennai. The Army offers both permanent and short service commissions. After SSB and Medical Board, the selected candidates are required to undergo approximately 49 weeks pre-commission training at OTA, Chennai.Īpart from recruitment through the UPSC, the commissioned officers are also recruited in Army through the Non-UPSC entries.
